The admin team is made up of 3 people who are always very busy with a variety of tasks. They are frequently interrupted from their core tasks to respond to requests from people who walk into the office. I have noticed that they respond with warmth to everyone and observe when people need help, and they instigate interactions. This could be anything from introducing themselves, offering a cup of tea, a few words of welcome, help with the photocopier or finding a document.
Often, if people we support are waiting for something or someone, the team ask them if they would like to help out. This could be something like shredding or sorting out the post; people feel good about contributing and it’s an opportunity for increased interactions. The team listen carefully and remember details; asking people how something went - personal or professional and this makes people feel they belong and are important.
The admin team also make the information that we produce accessible, but they then check with people that it is right for them.
It has been great to return to work to such a positive environment and seeing Great Interactions in practice. It makes me feel good and other people feel great too! I think that Great Interactions are particularly evident in this part of our organisation and a big thank you to the Warrington admin team for demonstrating them to such a high standard.
