Did you take a moment to share what you saw? Did you chat to the member of staff about the facilitation skills they used to successfully support good outcomes for the person? I hope so.
Having now delivered Great Interactions training in several other organisations, one of the key themes that comes up is motivating staff. Like MacIntyre, other providers are feeling the pinch and have no option but to maintain or cut back on costs, but what is also recognised is that positive feedback, recognition for a doing a job well and success stories, can be highly motivating. I know that most of our areas have Great Interactions Development Plans, but maybe 2013 could also be a year when we motivate one another, when we give that positive feedback, when we share what MacIntyre staff are good at.
Great Interactions is our unique selling point, so let's shout about it!
I would like to take this opportunity to say a big thank you to everyone who contributed to the blog in 2012. Some of you emailed me a story by surprise, some of you kindly agreed to write something when I desperately needed a blog, and some of you tried to avoid me, but then gave in! You have however all shared what we are passionate about and these stories help us to pass on good ideas, they encourage us to learn from one another and they inspire us to keep developing our facilitation skills.
