In October some of the people we support went on holiday to Norfolk and on one of the days they visited an animal adventure park.
Just by looking at the holiday photos you could see the member of staff was getting her interactions right - from the eye contact between Drew and Joanne, and Gary’s large smile.
Joanne made this activity so much fun for both men by joining in enthusiastically and positioning herself close to Gary to enable him to participate in the activity fully. Like many of us Garry can get easily distracted when there’s lots going on and staff need to keep his attention by using interesting facial expressions and laughter. Gary can be unsteady on his feet, so he also needs support from staff guiding him and using lots of verbal encouragement.
special because of the quality of the interactions by staff, who engaged so well with the men and made everything such fun.
